New Watch Box: Gift From Wifey!
I got a new watch box. And it came from an unlikely source: the wife! We recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and we've been following the "traditional theme" for anniversary gifts (1st: paper / 2nd: cotton / 3rd: leather / etc...). For the 5th, the theme is wood. She surprised me with this great box that I'm in love with. I've been storing my small collection in a watch roll (which she got me for our 3rd anniversary: leather theme) but now I can have a better presentation (and storage) for them and use the roll for transporting/traveling with the little guys.

Some things that make this box meaningful:
- The top has a badge with lat/long coordinates for the location where we got married.
- Each watch slot is lined with something that is related to the event/reason I got the watch. (Sidenote: I have this "rule" for myself where I only buy a watch for my collection to commemorate a life event; baby, promotion at work, milestone birthday, etc.). For example, I got the 1016 the year my firstborn came to us and so there is a piece of the blanket she was wrapped in from the hospital at the bottom of the slot.
The box has a storage area below the tray for the watches where I store accessories. It holds 8 watches so I can also interpret this as my wife supporting my hobby and future growth of the collection considering there are some empty slots, :)
